Dear School Uniform Shop Folks,
We've been thinking about you over the past few days - our customers, our colleagues their families and our community. While we are aiming to run School Uniform Shop as normal, obviously our customers, our colleagues and their families well-being are our top priorities, and our decisions are based on this.
We believe it's really important that we do our part to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19, and we are also following UK Government amd NHS guidelines. Here are some of the steps we are taking to protect everyone.
We are working hard to make sure that the products you love are available when you want them, delivered in the safest way possible. We keep large stocks of all our core products in our warehouse on the farm in rural Herefordshire, and these are all ready for immediate despatch by our team.
We are committed to looking after our team. If possible we are giving our team members the opportunity to work from home some or all of the time. We have also provided every colleague with a digital thermometer so that they are able to take their temperature before leaving for work in the morning to ensure that they are fit and well.
We are very fortunate that our warehouse is based on a farm in Herefordshire and that we are the only business based in our building, so we have been able to take a number of rigorous precautions so that our team members are kept as safe as possible. These include introducing strict working policies including 2 metre distancing between every colleague and individual working areas (no hot-desks etc). This does mean that there are less colleagues working at the same time, so we have extended our working hours to ensure we get all orders out as quickly as possible.
Because of this we will be prioritising order dispatch and emails over answering phone calls. We ask you not to phone us unless your enquiry is urgent. If you need to contact us please email using the details on the Contact Us page.
This video shows some of the measures we are taking to ensure our colleagues' safety and well-being.
All our products come from the manufacturers' UK distribution centres and these distribution centres are very automated. We have been speaking with our suppliers and they are confident that they are able to keep supplying products.
Our delivery partners are working to ensure they can deliver and use the advised precautions we're taking to protect health and safety.
Our colleagues, suppliers and delivery partners are working around the clock to ensure your orders are delivered on time, but please bare with them if your order is delivered a little later than originally planned, and be accommodating with their contact-free delivery arrangements etc.
We are taking all the necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our team and minimise the risks.
Following the gradual return to work announced by the Prime Minster on 10th May, we have completed the HM Government assessments of the working conditions in our offices and warehouse to ensure safety of our colleagues. We have been working towards this for a few weeks and are really pleased to confirm that is that we have already made all the changes that the Government advises, and more.
We are pleased to share these reports here:
While the environment around us is uncertain, we know how important it is for our customers to continue with their daily life as much as possible. Now it seems that many of us will be at home much more over the next few months please be assured we will do our best to enable you to continue to shop and buy clothes for you and your family and have them delivered safely to your door. In fact when we think about it we hope these concepts will even help make self isolation or feeling poorly a little bit more bearable.
We really appreciate your continued support of our family business in these challenging times. Anyway, just to let you know we are doing our best to keep calm and carry on!
Thank you for being part of our family business.
Luke and all the team at School Uniform Shop.
